The people of Zambia are mourning their first President Dr. Kenneth Kaunda and you know one African leader will surely not be left out, yes that is President Akufo-Addo.
The Ghanaian president has been on Funeral attending journeys when even some Other African leaders just sit home and send representatives or message of condolence.
Well, we can’t entirely blame him due to his position as the chairperson of the Economic Community of West African states ECOWAS authority of Heads of states and Government.
Dr. Kenneth Kaunda was pronounced dead on June 17th. He was the first President of the republic of Zambia and also the man who led the charge for their independence back in October 24, 1964.
With this huge achievements, one can understand the place Kaunda occupied in the hearts of all Zambians and his death will surely be a tough one to take.
Akufo-Addo was in Lusaka to mourn with the people of Zambia and speaking at the funeral he described the ex ruler as a humanist and a freedom fighter while expressing his condolences to the family behalf of the entire West African nations.
“On behalf of the Governments and the three hundred and fifty million peoples of ECOWAS, I extend our deepest condolences to the family of President Kenneth Kaunda. Thank you to the family and the people of Zambia for sharing him with us.”
