–His demise brought great sorrow to the media fraternity
–The actual cause was unknown until his eldest son discloses it
Veteran Broadcaster Wofa Sekyere Poporo Boateng died a few hours ago on Monday June 7th at age 73 and this has brought great sorrow to colleague Journalists in the country. It is extremely sad to know that the senior broadcaster died of an ailment.
Every soul will taste death and the holy books say it is appointed unto man to die and after death judgement. There is great sorrow which accompanies the death of a loved one to the bereaved family.
Wofa as affectionately called was suffering from an ailment. This was disclosed in an interview with Adom Fm by his eldest son Ofori Sekyere Boateng. He stated that his father was suffering from stroke for some time now but had recovered.
He was afflicted by this same stroke which eventually killed him. Before that the ailing Wofa was taken care of by his wife who also passed on to eternity two months ago and preparations are ongoing to bury her.
Wofa can be described as one of the pioneers of the Akan newscasters due to his unique way of presenting the news.
His several years of experience in journalism came from the numerous FM station’s he had worked with such Bibiani Broadcasting Corporations, Adom FM, Peace Fm and Adom FM.
