Defending champions, Portugal begun their European Championship title defense with victory over Hungary in Group F.
The Portuguese field a strong starting lineup that includes Bruno Fernandez, Bernardo Silva, Rebel Diaz and their Talisman Cristiano Ronaldo.
As expected, they started the game with their usual Short passed moving into the opponents box and nearly had the first goal when Jota shot straight into the gloves of the Hungarian goalkeeper even though his best option should have been a simple pass to Ronaldo.
The game quickly got intense with Hungary’s all defense all attack style of play and yet again Portugal missed the Chance to take a deserving lead with Ronaldo tapping from Bruno’s strong pass only to see it wild over the bar.
The second half was more balance and it looks like we were heading into witnessing abort her goalless draw of the tournament until Dortmund right back, Raphael Guerrero saw his low shot deflected off a defender straight into the net on the 84th minute.
Ronaldo then took things into his own hand with a bottom corner penalty just three minutes after Guerrero’s goal to double his side’s lead before dribbling past the goalkeeper in injury time to make it a 3-0 victory.
