Scott John Morrison is an Australian politician who is the 30th prime minister of Australia. He assumed office in August 2018 upon his election as leader of the Liberal Party of Australia.
Scott was born on 13 May 1968 in Sydney, New South Wales. He grew up with his parents and a younger brother in a suburb of Bronte. As a child, he attended Sydney Boys High School. he also earned his Bachelor’s degree in applied economic geography from the University of New South Wales.
In 1980, he began his career by working as a national policy and research manager for the Property Council of Australia. He later moved to the tourism sector to serve as a deputy chief executive of their task force. He later became general manager of the Tourism Council of Australia.
Morrison also served as state director of the New South Wales Liberal Party from 2000 to 2004. He was first elected to the Australian House of Representatives at the 2007 election as a member of parliament (MP) for the division of Cook in New South Wales and was quickly appointed to the shadow cabinet.
In 2013, he was appointed Minister for Immigration and Border Protection and made Minister for Social Services the following year. He was later promoted to the role of Treasurer in September 2015. In August 2018, he became the party leader of the Liberal Party which made him prime minister.
In the 2022 Australian federal election, Morrison was defeated. After his defeat, he subsequently announced his resignation as the leader of the Liberal Party.

John Morrison was an Australian police officer for the New South Wales Police Force. HE became Chief Inspector and a local government politician. He served as an alderman, deputy mayor, and mayor of the Municipality of Waverley.
