Singer Adele recently broke into tears on stage after being surprised by her former English teacher, Miss Donald.
This occurred during her televised performance of “An Audience with Adele” on Sunday, November 22.
The singer was on stage when Dame Emma Thompson, an actress, asked whether there was somebody who had inspired and left a lasting impression on her life as a child.
In response, the singer, who attended Chestnut Grove School in Balham, London, named her English teacher, Miss McDonald, and praised her.
Miss McDonald, she said, left a favorable impression on her and other pupils, and she revived her love of books.
She did, however, claim that the teacher had left the school when she was 12 years old.
It was just one year, but she got me really into literature. Like I’ve always been obsessed with English and obviously, now I write lyrics. She was so bloody cool, so engaging, and she really made us care, and we knew that she cared about us and stuff like that. She used to have all these gold bracelets and gold rings. She was bloody cool and so relatable and likeable, that I really looked forward to my English lessons
Adele quickly realized Miss McDonald was in the audience, and she burst into tears when her instructor rushed down the aisle to the platform and hugged her.
