-The government of South Africa has denied reports claiming that a woman in the country gave birth to 10 children once at the same time.
This is after several news platforms reported that a 37-year-old woman in the South Africa gave birth to decuplets.
Reports coming out from the government indicates that there is no proof yet that one Gosiame Thamara Sithole delivered the babies in the territories of South African.
Phumla William, the spokesperson for the government revealed this on News 24, he said that they have not found evidence to support that indeed the alleged woman gave birth to such a number of children at once at any hospital in South Africa.
Obviously, the statement from the government is contrary to reports claiming that one Phumla gave birth to decuplets.
Reports that came in earlier on Tuesday 8th June, 2021, showed that a certain woman who resides in Johannesburg, reportedly gave birth to the babies, three girls and seven boys through cesarean section at a hospital in Pretoria, South Africa.
The husband of the woman identified as Teboho Tsotestsi, said that the woman gave birth to two more children as earlier detected by the doctor.
Speaking to Pretoria News, Tsotesti said that he felt blessed after God gave him such a huge number of children.
“I felt blessed to be given this kind of blessings when many people out there need children. It’s a miracle I appreciate. I had to do my own research on whether a person can really conceive eight children” As quoted by Daily Nation.
If it turns out to be true that the woman gave birth to the said children, she could have broken the Guinness Book of Record held by a 25-year-old Malian woman, Halima Cissé who gave birth to nine children in May 2021.
