Michael suffered severe burns after a venti-sized Starbucks tea spilled on his lap on Feb. 8, 2020. His injuries included severe burns, nerve damage, and permanent harm to his genitals. He has undergone multiple surgeries and continues to endure pain and PTSD.
Garcia’s attorneys said the injuries were permanent and life-changing. The jury determined a Starbucks employee failed to secure the hot drink properly in a takeout tray.
