Tristan Thompson is a Canadian-American professional basketball player. He plays power forward/center for Chicago Bulls in the NBA.

Thompson was born on March 13, 1991, in Brampton, Canada. He is the eldest of his parent’s four sons. He attended St. Marguerite d’Youville Secondary School. he later transferred to Saint Benedict’s Preparatory School in his sophomore year to increase his exposure.

Tristan played college basketball for Texas Longhorns. In June 2011, he got drafted in the fourth round of the 2011 NFL draft by the Cleveland Cavaliers. He made his professional debut in December 2011 against Toronto raptors. He played with the Cavaliers for nine (9) seasons (2011-20020) before being traded in 2020 to Boston Celtic. He also played for Sacramento Kings (2021-2022) and Indiana Pacers (2022).

On February 19, 2022, Thompson signed with the Chicago Bulls. Tristan’s accolades and achievements include NBA champion (2016), NBA All-Rookie Second Team (2012), Big 12 Freshman of the Year (2011), Second-team All-Big 12 (2011), Second-team Parade All-American (2010), and McDonald’s All-American (2010).
