Trump demands ‘full-throated apology’ from Maine governor
President Donald Trump has intensified his demands for Maine Governor Janet Mills to issue a “full-throated apology” following her defiance of his executive order banning transgender athletes from competing in women’s sports.
The clash began when Mills openly rejected the executive order, stating, “See you in court,” during a heated exchange at a White House summit.
Trump, via his Truth Social platform, emphasized that while the state of Maine has apologized, the governor herself has not.
He insists that Mills must personally apologize and pledge never to challenge federal authority again before the dispute can be resolved.

Earlier this month, the University of Maine Systems (UMS), a network of eight public universities in the state, was blocked from receiving funds from the Department of Agriculture.
During the week, these universities backed down from their riot and began to comply with the executive order.
