Trump exchanges words with Maine governor at the White House over Transgender women participating in women sports
In a meeting with Governor’s of state at the White House, President Donald Trump got involved in a tense exchange with the Governor of Maine, Janet Mills.
During a State Dining with both Governor’s of Democrats and Republicans, Trump addressed his recent executive order of banning transgender women from participating in women sports. He called out the governor of Maine to ask if her state will comply and she objected.

Trump has threatened to withhold the state of Maine from its federal funding if it fails to comply with the executive order that bans transgender women from participating in women sports. According to Mills, she’s already complying to “state and federal laws.”
“Are you not going to comply with it?” Donald asked Janet of which she replied “I’m complying with the state and federal laws.,” she responded.in

Response Trump told Janet that, “well we are the federal law. We’ll you better do it because you are not going to get any federal funding at all if you don’t.”
According to Trump he believes the people of Maine want the executive order to be passed in their state. “your population doesn’t want men playing in women sports so you better comply otherwise you’re not getting any federal funding,” he told the governor.

In response to the threat, Janet Mills told Trump that she’s going to take it to court if he does.
“Good. I’ll see you in court, that should be a real easy one. And enjoy your life after Governor because I don’t think you will be elected in politics,” Trump replied to her.
