Viewers have since been curious to find out exactly why the balls are there and their purpose in the series. Read on to find out.

What Are The Balls On The Table In ‘House of The Dragon’?

The stones on the table in House of the Dragon represent the council members. It was an idea developed by Claire Nie Richards, the set decorator, and Jim Clay, the production designer.

In an interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Claire disclosed that the stones represented the council present and being part of the meeting.

When a council member is not present. the stone is left in the middle of the table. Each member of the council has their own ball.

The showrunner for House of the Dragon, Ryan Conadl also told The Hollywood Reporter why he accepted Claire’s idea saying that “Everybody shows up for work and they ‘punch in,’ I thought it was really cool. It’s a way of visualizing the set formality of the Small Council chamber. It’s enjoyable; we should have things that we like in this world.”
