Vijay Gill is a computer science specialist and IT executive. He has served as SVP of Engineering for RapidAPI Inc. since October 2021.

He completed his studies at the University of Maryland, Baltimore, where he also received a degree in mathematics and computer science.

According to his LinkedIn profile, Gill started out in business as a system administrator at UMBC. He worked as a network engineer at UUNET/Worldcom for two years, until May 2000.

Between 2000 and 2010, the computer science graduate held numerous positions with MFN/Abovenet, AOL, and the Internet Architecture Board.

In November 2006, Gill began working for Google, which greatly advanced his professional standing. He started out on the technical team and worked his way up to management. He handled the architecture and engineering of Google’s production networks.

After leaving Google, he held the position of general manager at Microsoft, where he was in charge of teams responsible for developing the worldwide infrastructure for the company’s online services for both customers and businesses all over the world. He left the company in 2015.

Later, the former employee of Google took a job as SVP of Software Engineering at Sales Force. Later, he held positions with Databricks, Twilio Inc., and his current employer, RapidAPI.
