Julee A. Cruise was an American singer, songwriter, actress, and musician. She is best known for her collaborations with composer Angelo Badalamenti and film director David Lynch in the late 1980s and early 1990s.
Julee Cruise was born on December 1, 1956, in Creston, Iowa. Growing up, she attended Drake University in Des Moines, Iowa. She is the only daughter of her parents.
She started her career by working with Anglo Badalamenti. She made horse to fam after she sang in the Blue Velvet’s musicals. Since her debut, she reduced several singles. Most of her songs were written by Badalamenti and David Lynch.
In 1989, she released her debut album, floating into the Night. She released 3 more albums. They are The Voice of Love (1993), The Art of Being a Girl (2002), and My Secret Life (2011). The last 2 albums were not written nor produced by Badalamenti and Lynch.
Julee also acted on the broadway and in theaters. She also did vocal and collaborated with several other artists. She sang in TV commercials and did cover versions for some popular songs.
Julie died on June 9, 2022, at the age of 65. Her cause of death is given as systematic lupus.
