What happened to Olivia Pratt-Korbel?
Olivia Pratt-Korbel was shot and killed on August 22, 2022, when a shooter barged into her Dovecot, Liverpool, home.
Olivia was shot and killed by accident. She was not the intended target of the crime.
On August 22, 2022, at around 10 p.m., two guys were strolling along Kingsheath Avenue near Olivia’s family house coming from the direction of Finch Lane.
A lone individual wearing a black padded jacket, a black balaclava with a peak, dark leggings, and black gloves walked up to the two males.
Cheryl, Olivia’s mother, opened the door to her house when she heard gunfire to check on the situation outside.
One of the men running from the gunfire noticed the front door was open as she was doing so and moved toward it.
The man entered the house, followed by the shooter, despite her best efforts to seal the front door.
When the shooter reopened fire, it was thought that nine-year-old Olivia was standing behind her mother. One bullet was fired, striking Olivia in the chest and Cheryl in the wrist.
The shooter persisted in trying to enter the house and fired two more shots at the man who had broken through the door.
A black Audi pulled up outside to transport the wounded man to the hospital just a short while after the shooter fled the area.
Olivia and Cheryl were both left in the doorway with gushing wounds.
The mother and daughter were sent to two different hospitals to receive medical care for their injuries.
However, Olivia’s injuries were catastrophic and tragically led to her passing.
