Rio Del Valle Hackford was an American actor who appeared in films and television shows. He was most recognized for his role as Toby in the American drama television series Treme, which he played on a regular basis.
Hackford is the son of film director Taylor Hackford and was born in Los Angeles County, California. In 1990, he made his acting debut in the film Pretty Woman, in which he performed an uncredited role as a street junkie. Safe, Exit to Eden, Déjà Vu, I Love Your Work, Blood In, Blood Out, Treasure Island, Sherrybaby, and Strange Days were among the films in which Hackford appeared. In the 2006 film Stay Alive, he portrayed Detective King. In the 2010 picture Jonah Hex, Hackford plays the character of Grayden Nash.
Hackford has appeared in a number of television shows, including When Nature Calls starring Helen Mirren, American Crime Story, Togetherness, Memphis Beat, Underground, and True Detective. In the drama television series Treme, he plays Toby on a regular basis. IG-11 was likewise portrayed by Hackford, with Taika Waititi providing the voice of the character. He most recently appeared in the biographical drama miniseries Pam & Tommy, in which he played a manager.
One-Eyed Jacks, El Matador, and Pal’s Lounge were among the clubs owned by Hackford in New Orleans.

Hackford died in April 2022 of uveal melanoma in Huntington Beach, California, at the age of 51.
