The Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office has reported Zachery Potts, a district director for Walorski, as having passed away after being killed in a crash on Wednesday afternoon.

The collision killed Republican Party member St. Joseph County, US Representative Jackie Walorski, communications director Emma Thomson, and Walorski.

Zachery Potts: Who Was He?

Zachery Potts, the district director for the US House of Representatives, was 27 years old at the time of the sad tragedy. Along with others, he died in the catastrophe.

According to his LinkedIn page, Potts started acting as the Indiana Republican Party’s Victory Team Captain in 2014. He coordinated campaigns to recruit volunteers at the local level to increase support for political candidates and turnout on election day. I successfully managed a workplace and two interns.

He worked as a yacht detailer at Integrity Detailing from 2013 to 2017. Later, he was selected to hold the position of vice chairman for the St. Joseph Republican Party. He also won the election for Chair of the 2nd District Young Republicans.

From 2015 to 2016, he coordinated the campaign for Walorski for Congress. After that, he was appointed campaign manager. At the time, he was the district director for the House of Representatives.

A US Rep. Director and a Congresswoman were killed in the crash.

According to the Elkhart County Sheriff’s Office, a northbound car crossed the center line of the state road and struck the SUV carrying Walorski. Zachery Potts, a 27-year-old Republican Party member from St. Joseph County, and Emma Thomson, Walorski’s 28-year-old director of communications, also perished in the SUV.

Two cars crashed in Elkhart County near Nappanee at the intersection of State Road 19 and SR 119. According to The Goshen News, Walorski was traveling south in a vehicle with Zachery Potts and Emma Thomson from Mishawaka.

Additionally, the driver of the northbound automobile, 56-year-old Edith Schmucker, was pronounced dead at the scene. The crash is being investigated by the Elkhart County sheriff’s office and coroner’s office.

Kevin McCarthy, the House Minority Leader, confirmed her loss via a tweet from Zachery’s office, writing that he had a “broken heart” for her family.

Zachery’s family was devastated to learn of his passing. Many of his friends and loved ones have sent condolences to his family.

Pete Buttigieg, the current secretary of transportation for the United States and a former mayor of South Bend, Indiana, sent his condolences to her family and the other victims of this terrible incident.

On Wednesday, the Indiana congressional delegation likewise sent its condolences. “I’m completely angry,” Senator Todd Young said. Jackie spent her entire life standing up for Hoosiers because she adored them. “Her spirit, her view on life, and, most importantly, her friendship, I won’t ever forget.” Indy mourns her passing and the tragic passings of her employees, Zach Potts and Emma Thomson.

A statement was also issued by Jim Banks, a congressman from Indiana (IN-3). “Jackie was a selfless, modest, and compassionate public worker,” he said. My heart breaks for Dean, the Walorski family, and everyone else who knew and cared for her.
