Fauziah Ibrahim is a TV journalist from Australia.

Ibrahim began her career as a reporter for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in Perth, then as a producer and presenter at 6AM RadioWest. She later worked for NewsRadio 93.8 in Singapore as a producer and presenter, as well as Channel I News as an anchor, producer, and reporter.

She was also an anchor for CNBC Asia’s World News and a producer for BBC Asia Business Report.

Ibrahim joined Al Jazeera English in 2008 and worked as an anchor at the channel’s main broadcast center in Doha, Qatar, where she presented the flagship show Newshour. She was previously the host of the station’s Asia-focused current affairs show 101 East, for which she received an Asian Television Award nomination for Best Current Affairs Presenter in 2011.

Ibrahim joined Australia’s ABC News network as a news presenter in 2016, and was named co-host of Weekend Breakfast in January 2020, replacing Josh Szeps.

In April 2022, Ibrahim was chastised for compiling publicly accessible Twitter lists criticizing Labor Party supporters.

Why is abc news presenter Fauziah Ibrahim taking a break?

Fauziah Ibrahim, the host of ABC Weekend Breakfast, has “taken a hiatus from on-camera duties” as the network “reviews recent social media behavior” by her that may be in violation of the network’s recently modified guidelines.

Ibrahim, who hosts the ABC TV news program from 7 a.m. on Saturdays and Sundays, was absent from the show over the weekend after it was revealed that her personal Twitter account contained a couple of “shitlists” that appeared to show disdain for some Labor Party members.

“Labor Trolls/Thugs” was one of the lists, which included 43 accounts, some with only a few dozen followers. The other, titled “Lobotomized Shitheads,” had only 11 accounts, only a handful of which had a large following, and some of them were also on the other list.

Rather than high-profile personalities, the accounts appear to be normal Twitter users whose conduct indicates a left-wing political perspective.
