Yo Oizumi (born April 3, 1973) is a Hokkaido-based TV personality, actor, and seiyu. He was born in Hokkaido’s Ebetsu and has lived in Sapporo since 1984. He is a member of the NACS TEAM.

Oizumi joined the theatrical club at Hokkai Gakuen University. In 1996, he founded the theatrical group “Team Nacs” (stylized in all capitals) with his theater club pals Hiroyuki Morisaki, Ken Yasuda, Shigeyuki Totsugi, and Takuma Oto’o.

Oizumi rose to prominence on a Hokkaido-based TV variety show called “Suiy Ddesh” (How do you like Wednesday?) Since then, he has been on a variety of media shows in Hokkaido. He is also a part of TEAM-NACS, a 5-piece theater troupe created in Hokkai Gakuen University.

TEAM-NACS completed their first national tour with their 11th original play, “COMPOSER,” in the spring and summer of 2005, and are now preparing for the 12th, “HONOR,” performances in Tokyo, Osaka, and Sapporo, beginning on March 9, 2007, at The Galaxy Theatre in Tokyo and ending on May 13, 2007, at Doushin Hall in Sapporo. In 2007, he was cast as Professor Hershel Layton in the puzzle video game Professor Layton and the Curious Village, as well as its sequels and film.

Along with the growing popularity of “Suiyo Doudesh” (“How do you like Wednesday?”) and TEAM-NACS not only in Hokkaido but throughout Japan in recent years, he has been diversifying his work by appearing on national TV dramas and films, doing character voices on animated films, and releasing CDs as a singer.

He is a talented writer and painter in addition to his vocal work. He refers to his admirers as “Koneko chan Tachi,” which translates as “kittens” in Japanese, despite the fact that he dislikes cats.

On May 30, 2011, he became a parent for the first time. He joked on his website, “Today I successfully became a parent!”
