Some Ghanaians on social media are unleashing their frustration on President Akufo Addo for asking Callum Hodson Odoi to consider switching Nationality to play for Ghana.
Even though Odoi has a Ghanaian father, he was in line to play for the three lions of England where he grew up and thus play for Chelsea.
The Champions league winner had paid a courtesy call on the President of Ghana as he is spending holidays in Ghana.
His Excellency Nana Addo took to his social media and wrote “ On Monday, 7th June 2021, Ghanaian-born Chelsea footballer, Callum Hudson-Odoi, paid a courtesy call on me at Jubilee House, the seat of our nation’s presidency. Amongst others, I urged the Minister for Youth and Sports to explore the possibility of having Callum switch nationality, and play for the Black Stars.
This wouldn’t have slide without people hitting back at the President for his call.
Among some of the comments say the President is only good at posing for pictures and loosing sight on important matters.
Some even asked Callum Hodson Odoi never consider playing for Ghana for his career will be truncated as others have experienced in the past.
There are those who also questioned why President Akufo Addo is rather leading the charge for Odoi to play for Ghana when we have equally talented players playing in the local league.
