Young Thug’s attorney was allowed to continue representing him in his indictment on racketeering and gang-related charges by a Fulton County court.
A judge postponed a ruling on whether the 30-year-old rapper, whose legal name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, will be granted bail until Thursday, June 2. Williams’ lawyer, Brian Steele, is accused of having a conflict of interest because he represents other co-conspirators named in the indictment.
The state said in court that it may negotiate plea deals with Steele’s other clients, which may create a conflict if part of the deal includes Williams’ testimony.
Despite his “concerns about a potential conflict” over the representation, the court determined on Thursday that Steele can continue to represent Williams for the time being.
