At no point were first and second Ladies paid under president Mahama; Sammy Gyamfi reveals to set the records straight

The communication director of the National Democratic Congress Lawyer Sammy Gyamfi has described it as palpable falsehood the politics of equalization done to create the impression the erstwhile Mahama adminstration paid the first and second Ladies.

He wrote lengthy on his Facebook page “It’s important to make the point that:

  1. At no point under President John Dramani Mahama were 1st and 2nd ladies paid salaries. Rather, 1st and 2nd ladies, as well as former 1st and 2nd ladies were paid allowances on a quarterly basis, as had been the case under predecessors of H.E John Dramani Mahama.
  2. These allowances were paid every quarter by the Chief of Staff from the financial allocation of the Office of the President and not the Ministry of Finance. The document being circulated by NPP social media activists is fake.
  3. The unconstitutional decision by President Akufo-Addo and Dr. Bawumia to pay their spouses a monthly salary equivalent to the salary of a Cabinet Minister, including allowances and other benefits, which they intend to back-date to January 2017, is unprecedented in the history of Ghana. No government in Ghana’s history has ever done that. And no amount of lies or desperate effort calculated at equalizing or rationalizing this clearly selfish and reprehensible move will wash.

President Akufo-Addo should tell us why his government has refused to provide H.E John Dramani with his entitlements such as Residential Accomodation and Office Accomodation since he left office in 2017?

He should tell us why his government has refused to take care of the utility bills, medical bills and other entitlements of the Former President. Shameless people!
