Ghanaian popular dancehall musician, Charles Nii Armah Mensah affectionately known as Shatta Wale has apologized passionately to the youth of the country for not contributing enough to their course.
Earlier some Ghanaian Youths on Twitter embarked on the ‘fix the country campaign’ online which attracted huge supporters and even gained international recognition.
This campaign was aimed at informing the leaders of the country about the plight and current hardships which needs to be addressed. This seems to be the first time in the history of our country that a non partisan online campaign has generated that magnitude of people from actors to politicians, market women, drivers, students etc.
Speaking on the program “with all due respect” the renowned artist apologized for his inability to support the campaign and indicated he was absent during that period.
Kelvin Taylor earlier lambasted celebrities in the country for not using their influence to convince their huge followers on the fix the country campaign. This would have gotten the attention of the authorities to fix things.
Shatta Wale in response said that ” everyone knows how vibrant I am when it comes to these issues and I must confess that I am sorry.”
Kelvin Taylor who was impressed also indicated how humbled he was to hear that.
