Joe Girardi is a former Major League Baseball player and manager from the United States (MLB).

Girardi was a catcher with the Chicago Cubs, Colorado Rockies, New York Yankees, and St. Louis Cardinals during his major league career, which lasted from 1989 to 2003. With the Yankees in the 1990s, he earned three World Series titles and was the catcher for both Dwight Gooden’s no-hitter and David Cone’s perfect game.

In 2005, Girardi was named the Yankees’ bench coach. He was voted National League (NL) Manager of the Year in 2006 while managing the Florida Marlins. From 2008 to 2017, Girardi led the Yankees to a World Series victory over the Philadelphia Phillies in 2009. In October 2019, he was named manager of the Philadelphia Phillies after serving as an analyst for MLB Network and Fox Sports. On June 3, 2022, he was sacked.
