Liza Soberano is a Filipino-American actress, model, singer and endorse. She began her career in television series and films such as Wansapanataym (2011), Kung Ako’y Iiwan Mo (2012), She’s the One (2013), and Must Be… Love (2014). (2013). She rose to stardom after starring alongside Enrique Gil in the romantic comedy television series Forevermore (2014–2015). Since then, she has starred alongside Gil in the films Just The Way You Are (2015), Everyday I Love You (2015), My Ex and Whys (2017), Alone/Together (2019), and the television series Forevermore (2014), Dolce Amore (2016), Bagani (2018), and Make It with You (2019). Soberano participated in the romantic comedy melodrama series Dolce Amore, which premiered in February 2016. Serena Marchesa, a young girl raised in Italy by her adoptive parents, is played by her. The film was released in February 2017 and earned her the GMMSF Box-Office Entertainment Award for Box Office Queen after generating $31.5 million on its first day.

Soberano announced in May 2017 that she would play Darna, a comic book superheroine, in a film adaption expected to be published in 2019. She chose to leave the role on April 4, 2019, due to an injury she sustained while filming the primetime drama Bagani. Matti had originally cast Angel Locsin in the part, but she had to withdraw due to a back ailment.

Hope Elizabeth Soberano was born in Santa Clara, California, to a Filipino father, John Castillo Soberano of Pangasinan, and an American mother, Jacqulyn Elizabeth Hanley. When her parents divorced, she was raised by her paternal grandparents in Visalia, California. She relocated to Manila, Philippines, with her father and relatives when she was ten years old.
